The Jerusalem Aquarium, a new addition to the Biblical Zoo (note: aquarium ticket is separate from the entrance ticket to the zoo). View the sea life of Israel, explore all four seas - the Mediterranean, Red Sea, Dead Sea, and the Kinneret. Interact with the underwater life of Israel and learn about its ecological importance in an air-conditioned space!
Next to the Biblical Zoo, are the Emek Rephaim valley springs. The springs are part of an agricultural system for watering fields that have been in use since ancient times. The entrance is via the zoo parking lot and can be found by using the Waze app. The spring is 20 steps from the parking lot. Make sure to bring a swimsuit.
Outside the old city walls lies the most ancient part of Jerusalem, which takes us all the way back to the time of King David and King Salomon. Explore the city in a guided or self-guided tour and enjoy walking in the ancient water tunnel built by one of the kings of Judah - King Hazakiya. Explore the relation between biblical stories and these archaeological finds - only in the Land of Israel. (Note: tickets, water shoes, and a flashlight are required). Continue your underground tour to the old city via the roman street - a nice option on hot summer days.
A European colony in the heart of Jerusalem was built in the 19th century by a unique German community. The German colony is a special area in Jerusalem. Historical stories are written on explanatory boards along Emek Refaim Street, alongside beautiful restaurants, galleries, and points of interest. The Bell Garden is located near the colony and is a nice stopping point for playtime with the kids in the afternoon. Even on hot summer days, the mountain air is cool and it is fun to run around on the grass.
