My name is Zehava Dahan and I am excited to be on the B’nai/B’not mitzvah educational team, where we strive to bring a unique and creative outlook to the B’nai/B’not Mitzvah journey.
If getting familiar with family traditions, understanding the meaning of becoming an adult and look into the family history in an effort to crystalize the Jewish identity is of importance to you as a parent, then we invite you to join a special journey in which we'll explore the spiritual and educational meaning during this special age.
Join us on a special journey of the Bnai/B’not mitzvah that combines the three pillars, Tradition-Community-Leadership.
Students will explore their connection to Israel, Israeli culture, various traditions related to the Bar/Bat Mitzvah, and their personal place in the process.
This course takes place online and provides a great opportunity for them to get to know other teens who are going through this coming-of-age journey.

מסורת - מנהיגות - קהילה - אלו עמודי התווך בקורסי אופק לבני/בנות מצווה. בני הנוער לומדים על מסורות, ואליהן הם מוספים את הקול הפרטי והמסורות שלהם לתהליך הפיכתם לבני/בנות מצווה.
התלמידים יעסקו בבינוי קהילתי, חיבור לישראל ולתרבות, ניתוח טקסטים יהודיים והמסורות השונות הנוגעות לפרק זמן משמעותי זה בתהליך ההתבגרות.

In this B’nai/B’not Mitzvah course, students learn about the meaning behind the B’nai/B’not Mitzvah year, by exploring Jewish and Israeli core values, such as Social Justice, Tikkun Olam and Mitzvot. We will utilize the Hebrew calendar for creating context with other life cycle events. [For 6th-8th, starting Oct 26]
The “Bat Mitzvah” is an exciting step for girls. It symbolizes the time when a girl becomes a young woman, and is the beginning of every female journey. In this ten-session course you will embark on a personal journey across time and a quest for answers. Our time together will be exciting, interesting, and fun. Most importantly, we will do it together. [For 6th-8th, Mothers & Daughters, starting Jan 22]
Our B’nai/B’not Mitzvah Program is a modern approach to an ancient tradition. Students will participate in thought-provoking discussions about topics relative to teens. Students will develop and connect to their Jewish identity, be encouraged to give back to their communities through social involvement, and to be inspired to continue exploring Jewish values in their daily lives. [For 6th-8th, starting Jan 26]
We invite parents/guardians to join us for this 5 sessions course. The B’nai/B’not Mitzvah marks a special Jewish milestone in the life of our children and their families.
