Just 20 mins south of Tel-Aviv, experience the incredible story of the early days of the State of Israel. In the interactive museum, you'll hear the story of how the young State of Israel was able to defend itself during the War of Independence. The story is told on site and with the restored items that were used during 1948. Reservation is needed.
In the center of the Weizmann Research Institution in Rehovot, you will find a hidden gem: a garden designed for children and teens, with hands-on science experiments and visual aids to see and explore the scientific world as well as Israeli innovation. Both indoor and outdoor spaces for scientific experiments and in-person experiences are around the garden. Make sure to check opening hours before making the trip.
With multiple options of exhibitions, The Children's Museum offers a unique experience - a guided "pitch black" tour guided by a visually impaired guide who will will walk you in a once-in-a-lifetime experience to explore the world without sight (ages 9+). There are also routes for children under 9, as well as invitations to explore the world in other ways (invitation to silence and more). Reservation is needed.
Volunteer option that is a fun family time - join this amazing food bank project saving food from fields and bringing it to those in need. You can join Leket for a few hours in a field near Rehovot.
