The Purim spirit is felt all around us, and in honor of Chodesh Adar, OFEK students had lots of fun participating in many holiday activities: Mishloach Manot, reading of the Megilah, Purim songs and more! The children especially enjoyed playing the game "Who's Reading Behind the Costume?", where a classmate reads the Megilah and the others try to guess who's doing the reading... Can you identify our young readers?

The “Bar Mitzvah” is an exciting step for a young Jew in his journey growing up. It symbolizes the time when a boy becomes a young man and is the beginning of every young person’s Jewish journey. “Bar Mitzvah” is an opportunity to deepen the intimate connection between every son and his parents and with himself; an opportunity to connect to our Jewish and Israeli roots.[For 6th-8th, starting March 8]
TLV Graffiti: Color, Technique, Art, and Social Statements. In this course we will: look at works by artists and creators of graffiti and street art from Tel Aviv-Jaffa; talk about the different techniques that the artists use in their work and try them out for ourselves; look at the social issues reflected in Tel Aviv graffiti and will try to understand the Israeli mood through the artists’ work. Join us and together with Anat Sadan and Susanne M Reyto, Author and Chairman of Violins of Hope Los Angeles County to experience the history of the Holocaust through the language of music. Learning how the treatment and suffering of the violins relate to the human experiences during the Holocaust. The restored violins represent the endurance of the human spirit and survival.
Ahead of Holocaust International Remembrance Day, that will be observed in January, we invite you to participate in this program that was curated specifically for younger ages. The students will be acting out scenes from the play while learning Holocaust topics: Jewish life before the Holocaust and the events, from 1933, that led to the rescue of approximately 10,000 children from Europe, from December 1, 1938, to September 1, 1939. [Starting March 22]
